Stella J. Frantz, 77, of Sandusky, passed away late Tuesday evening, July 19, 2016 in the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky following a lengthy illness.
She was born July 2, 1939 in Harrisburg, PA., and had lived in the Sandusky area most of her life. Stella was a 1957 graduate of Sandusky High School. She was employed as a LPN at the former Good Samaritan Hospital and retired from Firelands Regional Medical Center after 35 years of service. Her hobbies included cooking, knitting, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by two daughters, Jo Marie Hayes and Thelma (Peter) Pullano, both of Sandusky; six grandchildren, Taylor Hayes, Tommy Hayes, Tiffany (Rick) Crum, Nicole (Shawn) Quick, Peter (Melissa) Pullano, Mario (Sarah Stoyka) Pullano; 15 great grandchildren, Dawson, Mariah, Alyssa, Jacob, Parker, Greyson, Reese, Sydney, Destiny, Brianna, Emmy, Peter, Mckayla, Loryn and Ciera; her companion, Richard Woods of Sandusky; three brothers, John Frantz, Paul Frantz, Jr., both of Sandusky, Robert (Sharon) Frantz of Castalia, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by the father of her children, Joseph J. Nickester in 1984; her parents, Paul & Thelma (Richardson) Frantz, Sr. and two sisters, Beverly Snyder and Delores Brant.
At the request of the deceased, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 25, 2016 from 10:00 am until time of Memorial Service at 11:00 am at the Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Chaplain Mel Sayler, of Stein Hospice Service, will officiate. Inurnment will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
