Timothy Smith Obituary

Timothy Eldon Smith, 59, of Monroeville died early Tuesday morning September 8, 2026, at Magruder Hospital in Port Clinton following a brief illness.

He was born on August 22, 1967, in Norwalk and lived in Monroeville for many years, before moving to Norwalk in 2014.

He attended Christie Lane School & Workshop and The Link-Huron, in Norwalk. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monroeville, where he proudly served mass for many years. He was a member of the Christie Lane Bears Basketball Team, and he graduated from Christie Lane in 1989.

He had a love for country music, especially Dolly Parton and he loved to line dance. But his all-time famous dance was the Michael Jackson, Billie Jean “Moonwalk”. He was always the life of any party. His dog “Chico” was near and dear to his heart along with the Dallas Cowboys and his beloved Monroeville Eagles.

Some of Tim’s art is featured at the Artists Open Studio, in Norwalk as he truly had a passion for drawing and art.

He is survived by his brothers, Bob (Kathie) Smith of Monroeville, Jim (Diane) Smith and Dick (Susan) Smith, both of Norwalk, Tom (Leann) Smith of Bellevue, and John (Lynn) Smith of Norwalk; sisters, Jan (Joe) Kudro of Norwalk, Kathy Sheller of Monroeville, Sharon (Dave) Barman of Norwalk, Patti (Doug) Anderson of Monroeville; nineteen nieces and nephews, thirty nine great nieces and nephews, uncle, Don (Joanne Hipp) Stallkamp of Norwalk, and many cousins. He also spent several years with his special roommates, Matt Wadsworth, Marty Smith, and Brian Mackey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eldon E. and Mary Margaret (Stallkamp) Smith; and brother-in-law, Steve Sheller.

Special thanks to his caregivers, Partners in Community in Sandusky for their loving care given to Tim, especially Jamie Burmeister, Gary Blankenship, and several other staff members. Thank you to Edgewood Manor Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center for the last year and the special care from the medical staff at Magruder Hospital.
