Thomas “Tom” Eugene Duryea born December 1945, formerly of Findlay, Ohio went to be with his Savior on Tuesday February 11th, 2020. He graduated from Findlay High School in 1964. Tom entered the US Air Force on “the buddy system” with classmates in January of 1965. After basic training in Texas he spent 3 years state side until he was sent to Udorn and then Takhli, Thailand in 1967. He was a Crew Chief mechanic on the Douglas B-66 Destroyer and McDonnell F-101's. Tom was flown the short distance into Vietnam to repair damaged bombers to bring back to base in Thailand. He was Honorably Discharged in October of 1968. He then went to work at Ford Motor Company at the Lima Engine Plant where he retired in 2000.
Tom enjoyed working on vehicles, restoring antiques, woodworking, fishing, camping, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents Bernard and Lois Duryea of Findlay, Ohio. He is Survived by his wife of 51 years Ruth (Coffman) Duryea, daughter Kim Duryea, son Brad Duryea, sister AnnJeneen Fuerst, brother David Duryea.
Friends may call from 11:00 am until time of Military Service at 11:30 am on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 in the Giffin Chapel at the Ohio Veterans Home, 3416 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, Ohio. A memorial service will be held at Zion United Methodist Church - 9009 OH-12 West Findlay Ohio on Saturday February 29, 2020 at 11:00 am.
