Steven M. "Steve" Smith

Steven M. “Steve” Smith, 70, of Monroeville passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 14, 2024, in the Gaymont Nursing Home, Norwalk.

He was born June 11, 1954, in Norwalk, Ohio and was a 1972 graduate of Monroeville High Schol and EHOVE. Steve was a member of Mt. Harvest Church.

He was employed at the Center Manufacturing in Bellevue for many years and retired from Dave Price Metals in 2021. He was also proud of his time coaching track at Monroeville High School. Steve enjoyed golfing, working out at the gym, gardening, and helping anyone in need. He was an all-around mechanic and could fix anything, especially what Barb broke.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Barbara (Morman) Smith, whom he married on November 21, 1975; his sons, Bradley Smith of Monroeville, and Kevin Smith of Bellevue; his brothers, Clifton (Debra) Smith, Thomas (Pamela) Smith, both of Monroeville, and Roger (Ardella) Smith of Norwalk; special friends, Dan, Nick and Diane, and Glen (Butch); many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Myles and Johnette Smith.

Friends may call from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Monday, November 18, 2024, and from 9:00 am until time of funeral service at 10:00 am on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, in the Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe Street, Monroeville, Ohio. Pastor Joe Woodyard will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Monroeville. In honor of Steve feel free to wear a flannel shirt and/or a Chrysler T-shirt.
