Stella M. Rahrig, 93, of Sandusky and formerly of Monroeville passed away peacefully Friday, August 14, 2020 in The Meadows at Osborn Park, Huron.
She was born January 7, 1927 to the late John and Mary (Shafran) Slepko and was a graduate of St. Paul High School, Norwalk. Stella worked hard her entire life, retiring from Midwest after thirty years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Monroeville. Stella’s passion was her family and playing card games, bingo, and sometimes a little gambling with them made her happy. She liked keeping her mind sharp by watching challenging television game shows.
She is survived by one daughter, Sharon Rahrig of Sandusky; one son, Stephen Rahrig of Texas; grandchildren, Michelle (Joel Fries) Turner of Norwalk, Danielle (Tony) Mann of Castalia, and Michelle Gustin of Chicago; five great grandchildren; one sister, Kate Johnson of California; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings.
At Stella’s request, there will be private services held at Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe Street, Monroeville. Fr. Ted Miller will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Monroeville.
