It is with great sadness that family of Roy Daniel Basham Jr. to announce his passing on 9/13/2020 at the Ohio Veterans home in Sandusky.
He was Born in Cabin Creek, WV on February 12, 1933. Roy served in the Navy 1950-1953 during the Korean War. He served on two aircraft carriers, the USS Theodore Roosevelt, and the USS Coral Sea. He was a member of the FOE in Chardon and the VFW in Painesville. Roy also owned Roys’ Sohio at Eckeys Corner in Mentor on the lake & Roys’ Sunoco in Kirtland. Roy was a master mechanic and an electrician as well as many other skills. Roy was a man of god who walked in the lord with his wife and kids. What a great loss for our family, as family was everything to him! He was always there to teach, help, support, and love each and every one of us. Words cannot express the loss our family is experiencing.
He is survived by sister, Mary Foss; son, Roy D. (Maryann) Basham; daughters, Julie Reynolds, and Janet (Doc) Sincavage; son, Scott A, (Hillary) Basham; grandkids, Joshua (Allison) Basham, Jason (Kami) Basham, Darik (Lisa) Basham, Rachel Sincavage, Chrystle (Sean) Hoyt, Herbie Reynolds, Casandra Reynolds, Corinne Reynolds, Ashley (Nito) Estrada, Jonathan (Megan) Basham; great grandkids, Mason, Cole, and Kyle Basham, Cadence, Darik Jr., & Chevele Basham, Crylynn Reynolds, Aryia & Daxton Hoyt, Herbie Reynolds lll, Jaelynn Reynolds, & Kinsley Egeland.
He proceeded in death by his wife Anna M Basham; his father, Roy Daniel Sr. and mother, Ethel Basham; sisters, Fleta (Les) Cooper, Maxine (Earl) O’Neil, Jackie (Gene) Light, Ina (John) McHue, Bonnie (Bob) Miller, June (Cee Cee) Simms, Connie Sue Basham; and brothers, Andy Allen Basham and Larry Dean Basham.
Private family viewing will be held at Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel then Roy will be laid to rest at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery on 9/17/2020 at 1:00 PM.
