Roger "Skinny" J. Schaffer

Roger J. “Skinny” Schaffer, 60, of Monroeville passed away peacefully Friday morning, March 27, 2020 in the Fisher-Titus Medical Center, Norwalk.

He was born August 21, 1959 in Norwalk, Ohio. Skinny graduated from Monroeville High School in 1977 and had worked on his family farm with his son and brother. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and taking family trips to the beach. He also enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas with his friends.

He is survived by one son, Jonathan (Kara) Schaffer of Monroeville; five daughters, Alysha (Joshua) Hirt of Bellevue, Megan (Jordan) Ringenberg of Findlay, Rachel Schaffer of Monroeville, Rebecca (Peter) Yeager of Cincinnati, and Adrian (Joseph) Livengood of Columbus; seven grandchildren, his mother, Joanne Schaffer of Monroeville; one brother, Jay (Judy) Schaffer of Monroeville; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carl J. Schaffer, Jr.; three brothers, David, Garry, and Ricky Schaffer; two nephews, Jason Schaffer and Jason Poths.

Family services will be held with Fr. Ronald A. Schock officiating. Burial will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery, Monroeville. A Celebration of Life service will be announced at a later date.

Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe Street, Monroeville has been entrusted with the arrangements.
