Patricia A. (Ries) Sparks

Patricia A. (Ries) Sparks, 81, of Monroeville passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 8, 2022, surrounded by her loving family in Firelands Regional Medical Center.

She was born June 24, 1940, in Sandusky. She was a graduate of Monroeville High School and was a member of the Congregational Community United Church of Christ. She was a homemaker, worked at the Deputy Registrar’s office for Huron County and baked wedding and birthday cakes. Pat loved to travel, especially to Las Vegas, loved to cook, and spending time with family.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ronald “Butch”; her five sons, Scott (Lisa), Randy (Penny), Todd (Brenda), Bradley (Becky), and Barry, all of Monroeville; seven grandchildren, Sarah (Nick) Schafer, Brian (Jessica) Sparks, Justin (Cortney) Sparks, Jerrod (Abigail) Sparks, Carson (Anna Tessari) Sparks, Brandon (Victoria) Sparks, and Brett Sparks; nine great grandchildren, sister, Delores Jean Ries; sister-in-law, Elaine (Edward) Sparks; brother-in-law, Tom Sparks; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter “Bud” and Juanita (Leber) Ries; her in-laws, Dr. Howard and Mary Sparks; brother, Raymond “Skip” Ries; grandson, PV2 Jason Sparks; brother-in-law, Edward Sparks; and sister-in-law, Audrey Sparks.

Friends may call from 11:00 am until time of funeral service at 2:00 pm Friday, February 11, 2022, in the Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe Street, Monroeville. The Rev. Dr. Wayne Chesney will officiate. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Monroeville.
