Myron E. "Mike" Sweet

Myron E. “Mike” Sweet, 86, of Monroeville passed away peacefully Friday, June 5, 2020 at his residence following a lengthy illness.

He was born April 15, 1934 in Norwalk, Ohio and was a 1952 graduate of Norwalk High School. Mike was employed as the superintendent of the Huron County Highway Department for thirty-three years, retiring in 1985. Following retirement, Mike was the caretaker of the Huron County Fairgrounds. He was a member of the American Legion and Eagles, both in Norwalk. He was a true sportsman and enjoyed supporting all sporting events.

He is survived by one son, Mark (Sue Adkins) Sweet of Norwalk; one daughter, Lorie (David) Pierce of Monroeville; four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Joan M. Sweet in 1999; his parents, Myron and Ellen (O’Dell) Sweet; daughter in law, Judy Sweet; one sister, Betty Winslow; and two brothers, Chuck and Don Sweet.

Friends may call from 9:30 AM until time of funeral service at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 9, 2020 in the Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe Street, Monroeville, Ohio. The Rev. Dr. Amy C. Little will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Norwalk.
