Michael James Brandl died peacefully in his sleep on December 31, 2021, after a long illness.
He was born to Steve and Stella Brandl on October 1, 1950, in Akron, Ohio. He attended St. Anthony Grade School and Hoban High School and graduated in 1968. He joined the Navy in 1968. He was Honorably discharged in 1972. He spent most of his service in the Philippines and San Diego. After discharged from the service he returned to Akron, Ohio.
He was employed by Chrysler auto plant in Twinsburg Ohio. He retired from Chrysler due to health reasons. He received an Associate Degree from the University of Akron. Mike lived most of his life in Akron Ohio until he moved to the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky, where he lived until he died. He was active with the Knights of Columbus and Amputee Groups.
Mike was great guy with a great sense of humor. He was loved and will be missed by many.
He leaves behind brother, John (Judy) Brandl; sister, Christine (William) Calvert; nephews, Jeffery (Elizabeth) Brandl, Nicholas Brandl, Russell Calvert; niece, Michelle (Robert) Friend; grandnieces, Brianna Calvert and Brielle Brandl; and great nephew, Nolan Brandl.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Steve and Stella Brandl; brother, Stevie Brandl; and nieces, Angela and Kimberly Brandl.
He was interred at the Ohio Veteran Home cemetery located in Sandusky, Ohio. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date at the Ohio Veterans Home.
