Melanie Paul Obituary

Melanie Ann Paul passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at her residence following a sudden illness.

She was born March 10, 1979, in Cleveland and was a top ten graduate of her Margaretta High School class. Melanie had a degree in Social Work from Mount Vernon Nazarene College. She sang in a choral group, The Trebles, during her college years. Social justice was a passionate cause of Melanie’s. One of her favorite memories was when she went on a mission trip to New York City while she was at MVNC. As a youngster, Melanie was active in dance class, 4-H, Girl Scouts, church plays and youth group. She grew up going to church at Peoples’ Church, later Eagles Nest, Int’l. A highlight of her high school senior year was when members of the Margaretta High School Choir performed in Nashville, Tennessee. Melanie was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers, fondly recalling Cecil Fielder's home run filled seasons in the early 1990s.

Melanie is survived by her mother, Dorene Paul; identical twin sister, Denise Paul; son, Caleb Coleman; and nephew, Ty Paul, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives. She is also survived by Holly, the child she placed for adoption with great love and care and kept in her prayers.

She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas J. Paul; brother, Joel T. Paul; uncles, Matthew Orshoski and Steve Kenniston,, and maternal and paternal grandparents.

A gathering of family and friends will begin at 4:00 pm until the time of Melanie’s Celebration of Life at 5:00 pm on Saturday, May 30, 2026, in the Fellowship Hall of Christ Community Church, 2401 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, Ohio. Pastor Gene T. Paul will officiate.
