Marlene D. Millis, 82, of Bay Bridge, Ohio passed away peacefully Saturday, December 12, 2020 in the Stein Hospice Care Center following a brief illness.
She was born July 13, 1938 in Sandusky and was a 1957 graduate of Margaretta High School. She was employed at the former Lutheran Memorial Nursing Home as a cook for thirty-eight years, retiring in December of 2010. Marlene loved to cook and cherished her monthly luncheons with her “Girls”. She also enjoyed knitting, making several scarves to share with others. She was an avid Lebron James, Cleveland Browns, and Cleveland Indians fan. Marlene treasured the time she spent with her family.
She is survived by one daughter, Melisa (Kevin) Balduff of Vickery; two granddaughters, Courtney (Rob) Gysan of Vickery and MaciAnn Balduff of Westlake; honorary son, Jerry (Bobbie Jo) Neibler of Clyde; one great grandson, Chace; her pet cat of 20+ years Lucky; one niece, Jeanne (Ted) Driscoll of Vickery; one nephew, Eddie (Dawn) Meyers of Castalia; nieces, Kristi (Freddie) Yaddo of Sandusky and Kim (Victor) Chavarria of Sandusky; grand nephews, Tyler (Melissa) Meyers and Josh Meyers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Millis in 2010; one son, Wade Millis in 2014; parents, Edward and Josephine (Svonavec) Meyers; siblings, Rudolph “Rudy” Meyers and Leroy (Kathryene) Meyers.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 am Thursday, December 17, 2020 in the Castalia Cemetery. Rev. Kathleen A. Suggitt will officiate.
