Mardella A. (Marchus) Marquart

Mardella A. Marquart, 91, formerly of Sandusky passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2018 in the Ottawa County Riverview Healthcare Campus following a lengthy illness.

She was born October 9, 1926 in Sandusky and was a 1944 graduate of Sandusky High School. Mardella was a housewife and homemaker and loved spending time with her grandchildren and her cats. She enjoyed her card clubs with friends and fishing.

She is survived by one daughter, Melinda (Bud) Reynolds of Anderson, IN; one son, Joel (Liz) Marquart of Oak Harbor; eight grandchildren, Melissa Lewis of Hillard, OH, Karrey Nominee of Tiffin, OH, Shelly Holt of Hillard, OH, Aimee’ Sivillo of Plain City, OH, Jon Shelper of Beech Grove, IN, Jack Shelper, Jr. of Indianapolis, IN, Stephanie Lindle of Nobleville, IN, and Kelsey Marquart of Oak Harbor, OH; twenty great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Lola “Peg” Marquart of Sandusky, and her special friend, Rhoda Taylor of Sandusky.

She was preceded in death by her husband on December 24, 1985, whom she married on June 18, 1947, Donald B. Marquart; and her parents, Karl and Violet (Tite) Marchus.

Friends may call Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 9:00 AM until time of funeral service at 11:00 AM at the Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Pastor Kurt Borows of Resurrection Lutheran Church in Port Clinton will officiate. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
