Lucille I. “Lucy” Naufel, 84, of Sandusky passed away peacefully Monday morning February 14, 2022, in the Bellevue Care Center, Bellevue.
Lucille was born March 29, 1937, in Ballville Township, Sandusky County, Ohio to the late Robert E. and Lucille R. (Kiser) Kramer. Lucille graduated from Fremont St. Joseph High School in 1955. She was a secretary at the Sandusky St. Mary’s High School for eight years and had worked in the Erie County family/juvenile court for eighteen years until her retirement. For many years she was involved with the football and wrestling programs at SMCC and Defiance College (where her son’s participated). She was an avid fan of Notre Dame football and made many trips to South Bend. Lucy and her husband welcomed students, athletes, officials, coaches, and parents in their home. She was a proud mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and supported them throughout their lives.
She is survived by five sons, Mitchell (Mary) Naufel of Toledo, Michael (Dee Dee) Naufel of Fremont, Matthew (Nancy) Naufel of Naples, FL, Mark Naufel of Sandusky, and Martin Naufel of Oregon, OH; ten grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Edward Naufel in 2013; two sisters, Mary Ann Bullinger and Norma Zierolf; one brother, Harold Kramer; one great granddaughter, Sadie Naufel.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 am until time of funeral mass at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 19, 2021, in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 429 Central Avenue, Sandusky. Fr. Zach Brown will officiate. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
