Lewis D. Poths, 74, of Monroeville passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at his residence following a lengthy illness.
He was born August 11, 1951, in Bellevue to the late Wesley and Dorothy (Rice) Poths. Lewie was a 1970 graduate from Monroeville High School and retired from Lake Erie Construction.
Lewie had a lifelong passion for fishing, and enjoyed playing the lottery, woodworking, and tinkering in his garage. The most important thing in his life was his family.
He is survived by four daughters, Chris (Chuck) Puder, Mandy Walkup, Jennifer (Daren) Mull, and Jessica Poths; grandchildren, Mark, Schyler, Colton, Emma, Harper, and Sawyer; twin sister, Linda Yanushewski; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Art and Charlie; and nephew, Jason Poths.
Friends may join in a celebration of life on Lewie’s birthday, Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am in the Congregational Community United Church of Christ, 29 Chapel Street, Monroeville, Ohio 44847. Rev. Dr. Wayne Chasney will officiate.
Lewie requested that plaid, flannel, Monroeville Eagle gear, jeans, cowboy boots, or anything that makes you comfortable be worn to celebrate him.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Congregational Community United Church of Christ, Wildlife Fund through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, or SouthernCare Hospice.
