Leonard E. Johnson, 88, of Sandusky passed away early Thursday morning, December 5, 2024, in The Laurels of New London.
He was born October 12, 1936, in Muskegon, MI and had lived in the Sandusky area most of his life. He retired from his office manager position at the Huron County Landfill. Prior to this he had worked at Sandusky Folding Box and G&C Foundry. He enjoyed boating and fishing and loved his convertible.
He is survived by one daughter, Laurie and Melvin Bailey of Norwalk; his niece, Marie (Todd) Frantz of Fruit Port, MI; his nephew, Donald E. Liefer of Grand Haven, MI; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ellen M. Johnson in 2001; one son, Philip E. Johnson in 1991; his parents, Edward and Dorothy (Wilson) Johnson; and three sisters.
Visitation for Leonard will be from 9:30 am until the time of funeral service at 11:30 am on Monday, December 9, 2024, in the Eagle’s Nest Church, 2126 Pipe Street, Sandusky. Minister Sally Binette will officiate. The burial will be in Sand Hill Cemetery, Groton Township.
