Leonard C. "Lenny" Didion

Leonard C. “Lenny” Didion, age 98, of Monroeville, passed away on Monday June 12, 2023, at Fisher-Titus Memorial Hospital after a brief stay.

Len was born December 26, 1924, to the late Charles and Theresa (Wernert) Didion. He attended Monroeville schools and worked on the family farm in his youth. He continued maintaining the farm while managing Firelands Tool Rental for 30 years. After retiring from FTR, Len was responsible for lawn care at Riverside Cemetery for 12 years.

A lifelong member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Monroeville and a 79-year member of the Holy Name Society and Knights of Columbus, Len loved gardening and spending time with family.

Len is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Janice (Heinz) Didion of Monroeville, daughter Linda Poland of Wakeman, son Mike (Cathy) of Sheffield Village and son Charles (Tammy) of Greenwich. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Matthew of Norwalk; Zachary, Chris, and Sarah of Greenwich; Tony of Cuyahoga Falls; Andrew of Sheffield Village and many nieces and nephews.

Len was preceded in death by his parents, baby daughter Theresa, sister Cecilia Bauman and stepbrothers Linus, Bernard, Florian and Norman.

Friends and family are welcome to gather at Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe Street, Monroeville, on Sunday, June 18, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 19, 2023, 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 66 Chapel Street, Monroeville, Ohio 44847. Fr. Chris Jesudhason will officiate. Burial at St. Joseph Cemetery will follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Joseph Church or a favorite charity in remembrance of Leonard.
