Lawrence J. “Larry” Lochotzki, 79, of Huron passed away peacefully on Monday, April 1, 2025, in the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky surrounded by the love of those he held dear to his heart.
He was born on May 7, 1945, in Port Clinton, Ohio and was a 1964 graduate of Sandusky High School. Following graduation, Larry enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served his country from 1964-1970.
Larry retired from General Motors/New Departure-Hyatt after thirty-eight years, and from the Erie County Sheriff's Department after twenty-two years of service. Larry had strong faith and spent his life in the service of others. His service was evident in his kindness toward anyone he met, and he shared that trait as a funeral director’s assistant. He enjoyed fishing, socializing with friends, and spending time with his family, especially the many breakfasts they shared together.
He is survived by his son, John R. Lochotzki of Huron; daughter, Juliane M. (Gregory) Finton of Huron; one grandson, Brandon J. Lochotzki of Huron; siblings, Sister Mary Lochotzki of Toledo; Thomas Lochotzki, Edwin (Mary Ann) Lochotzki, all of Sandusky, Anne Daughterty of Norwalk; and James Lochotzki of Bay View; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene K. Lochotzki in 2022; daughter, Lori A. Lochotzki in 1972; parents, Jerome and Rita (McCarty) Lochotzki; one brother, Kenneth Lochotzki; one sister in infancy, Janet Lochotzki.
Friends may call on Monday, April 7, 2025, from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. A prayer service will take place at 7:45 pm led by Deacon John Bialorucki. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 am, Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at St. Peter Catholic Church, 430 Main Street, Huron, Ohio 44839. Fr. Doug Garand will officiate. The burial will take place in Scott Cemetery, Huron.
