Larry E. Smith, 75, of Willard passed away unexpectedly Thursday November 28, 2024, in the Mercy Health Hospital, Willard.
He was born on December 22, 1948, in Norwalk and was a 1966 graduate of Monroeville High School. Larry retired from Tenneco in Milan after many years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed trapping, hunting, and fishing. He supported all Cleveland sport teams and was an Ohio State fan.
He is survived by a son, Dennis E. Smith of North Fairfield; daughters, Colleen King of Rocky River and Jodi Smith (Nick) of Blue Ash; grandchildren, Kyle (Kay) Smith and Kaitlyn Smith (Cody) both of Willard, and Rosa King of Kent; great grandchildren, Myles Smith, Sawyer Smith, and Harper Butcher; special companion, Carolyn Hoyt and her family of Willard; sister, Sharon (Ken) Didion of Valparaiso, Indiana; brother, David V. Smith of Bellevue; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon J. and Joanne E. (Schild) Smith; and one brother, Michael W. Smith (Cathy).
Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until the time of his funeral service at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, in the St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, 243 Benedict Avenue, Norwalk. Rev. Catherine Schibler will officiate. At Larry’s request cremation will follow.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
