Kenneth R. “Ken” Grahl, 74, of Sandusky passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 9, 2024, in the Providence Care Center, Sandusky.
He was born April 20, 1949, in Sandusky and was a 1967 graduate of Margaretta High School. Following graduation Ken fostered his talent for drawing, model railroading, crafting and art, earning an Associate Degree in drafting from Stautzenberger College in Maumee, Ohio. He retired from the City of Sandusky’s Sewage Treatment Plant.
Ken was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and AFSCME Local 1519. He had a passion for nature and enjoyed walks through East Harbor and Magee Marsh. He was an avid bird watcher.
He is survived by his siblings, Edward C. Grahl, Jr. and Susanne (Greg) Lemert, both of Sandusky; one niece, Carrie Lemert of Sandusky; and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Ada (Nielsen) Grahl, Sr.; sister-in-law, Rita Grahl; maternal grandparents, Cyrus and Regina Nielsen, Sr.; paternal grandparents, Paul and Minnie Grahl; aunts, uncles, and several cousins.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, in the Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, March 14, 2024, in the funeral home with Pastor Jennifer Herrmann of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. The burial will be held in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
