Katie A. (Schrock) Rouse

Katie A. Rouse went home to be with the Lord and loved ones at the age of 88 years on January 9, 2021.

She was born to the late Noah J. and Emma (Miller) Schrock on June 26, 1932 in Maysville, Ohio. Katie worked her entire life as a bartender/cook. She worked at Lee’s Grill in Monroeville and the Norwalk Moose Lodge until her retirement. She was a great cook and baker. Everyone demanded her homemade noodles for all their family gatherings. She was also known for her cookies and pies. Katie also loved to sew and sewed for many people throughout the years. She was a life member of the Mooseheart International, Norwalk Eagles, and a social member of the Norwalk American Legion.

A devoted mother and grandmother, she is survived by one daughter, Rosie (Dick) Amerine of Norwalk; one son, Robbie (Debbie) Rouse of Monroeville; three grandsons, Adam (Tiffany) Rouse of North Fairfield, Ohio, Levi (Nia) Amerine of Rapid City, South Dakota, and Evan (Meghan) Amerine of Vermilion; three great grandchildren, Theroux, Lachlan, and Wyatt Amerine; two sisters, Emma Shetler of Mesopotamia, Ohio, and Viola Spence of North Carolina; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She is also survived by her stepchildren, Raymond (Nancy) Rouse of Beach City, Ohio, Russell Rouse of Dundee, Ohio, and Ruby Rieger of Norwalk, Ohio; step grandchildren, Debbie, Lori, Ray, Renae, Robyn, Rusty, Mike, Michelle, Sally, Joanne, Rich, and numerous step great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald F. Rouse in 1983; her parents, two stepchildren, Ronnie Rouse and Ruth Gates; step granddaughter, Tammy Potts; and siblings, Mary Ann, Lena, Pete, Jonas, Levi, and Polly.

Friends may call from 11:00 am until time of funeral service at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 in the Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe Street, Monroeville. Rev. Dr. Wayne Chasney will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Monroeville.
