Judith Jean (Souter) Blackwood passed away Saturday, June 20, 2026, surrounded by her family who were the center of her life.

Judy was a woman of remarkable kindness, humility, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her greatest joy and purpose were found in being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and caregiver. She selflessly and sacrificially devoted herself to the daily care and well-being of her beloved son, Scott, while also nurturing and supporting her daughters through every stage of their lives. Judy shared her life with her husband, Sam Blackwood, and together they built a united and close-knit family.

Remaining to honor and continue her legacy are her daughters, Debbie (Randy) Feix, Diane (Dan) Lake, and Tami (Brian) Printy; her brother, Bob (Connie) Souter, ten grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren who will forever carry her love, wisdom, and example in their hearts. She never sought recognition for all that she gave, and the example she set and the love she shared will remain with her family forever. Though our hearts are broken by her passing, we find comfort in the countless memories she is a part of, and in the enduring legacy of love she created. We take solace in knowing that she now dwells in the house of the Lord and is reunited with the loved ones she so dearly missed.

Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Sam, and her son, Scott—the loves of her life—as well as her parents, Alex and Helen Souter.

The family will receive friends and family from 10:00 am until the time of funeral service at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, in The Chapel, 4444 Galloway Road, Sandusky. Pastor Eric Lapata will officiate. Burial will be in Perkins Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
