Juanita A. (Leber) Ries

Juanita A. Ries, 96, of Monroeville passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 22, 2020 surrounded by her loving family in The Willows at Bellevue.

She was born December 12, 1923 in Monroeville. Juanita was a member of the Congregational Community United Church of Christ. She was employed at GE in Bellevue and retired after thirty-three years.

She is survived by two daughters, Patricia (Ronald “Butch”) Sparks of Monroeville and Jean Ries of Bellevue; nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter “Bud” Ries in 1993; one son, Raymond “Skip” Ries in 2017; her parents, Philip and Edna (Weilnau) Leber; two sisters, Mary Milkie and Irma Homan; three brothers, Lester, Paul, and Richard Leber; and one great-grandson, PV2 Jason Sparks.

The family will have a private family gathering at Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe Street, Monroeville. A committal service will be held in the Riverside Cemetery, Monroeville with the Rev. Dr. Wayne Chasney officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Congregational Community United Church of Christ, 29 Chapel Street, Monroeville, Ohio 44847.
