John L. Panzer

John L. Panzer, 64, of Sandusky passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 18, 2019 in the Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky following a lengthy illness.

He was born February 18, 1955 in Sandusky and was a 1973 graduate of Sandusky High School. John retired in 2017 from Sandusky International-MetalTek in Sandusky following 45 years of service. He was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. John enjoyed woodworking, the outdoors, watching western movies, and riding his motorcycle. But his most cherished moments were spent with his family, especially his grandsons.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Lee Ann (Maschari) Panzer; two sons, Zachary (Marisa) Panzer of Pittsburgh, PA and Wesley (Kaitlyn) Panzer of Valencia, PA; four grandsons, Aedan, Taylor, Landon, and Grayson Panzer; two sisters, Sue Panzer and Jane (Mark) Righi, both of Sandusky; nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence “Bud” and Lois (Erckman) Panzer; and his grandparents.

Friends may call from 4:00 PM until time of funeral service at 7:00 PM on Friday, June 21, 2019 in the Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Deacon Jeff Claar will officiate. At the request of the deceased, cremation will follow.

Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
