Helen Arlene (Klein) McElroy

Helen Arlene McElroy, 96, of Sandusky passed away peacefully Friday, March 19, 2021 in the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.

She was born January 25, 1925 in Huron Township, Ohio and was a 1942 graduate of Huron High School. Arlene retired from the Roger L. Dickman Insurance Agency and prior to this she had worked for the former Koch Agency Inc. and the former Philco Corporation. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Sandusky and a former member of the Resurrection Lutheran Church, a former member of Singara Caldron, No. 60, Daughters of Mokanna.

She is survived by one daughter, Christine Antel; one son, William (Vicki) McElroy, both of Sandusky; one stepson, Larry (Janice) Blake; one grandson, Christian (Liz) Antel of Galloway, Ohio; three step grandchildren, Alan Antel, Keith Burcham, and Angela (Brad) Baumgardner; three great grandsons, Marshall, Connor, and Grayson; four step great grandchildren, Noah, Wyatt, Haden, and Thorald; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest D. McElroy in 2012; her parents, William and Carrie (Watzel) Klein; five siblings, Glenn Klein, Francis Hofer, Henrietta Thompson, Harvey Klein, and Lewis Klein; and son in law, Mike Antel.

Private family services will be held with the Rev. Dr. Eric Bodenstab officiating. Burial will be in the Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
