On March 29, 2026, our Uncle Gary went home to be with family and friends.
Gary was born to Harry and Gertrude Livingston July 5, 1942. Gary served in the US Army, stationed in Berlin during the 1950’s. Uncle Gary worked several jobs over the years including Loader, operator at Kelleys Island Quarry, where he also helped form Boy Scouts Troop 88 in the early 1970’s.
Later in years Gary and his mother lived a quiet life outside Vermilion and they both had many friends.
Uncle loved being outdoors and anything to do with it. He was a true “Jack of All Trades”.
Gary is survived by his daughter, Dawn Marie; sister, Nancy Pennuchon, of Lakeside; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Our Uncle Gary is preceded in death by his parents, “Uncle Mickey”, and sister Sally Willis.
Thank you to the wonderful staff at hospice and to all the staff at the Ohio Veterans Home for your care and compassion. Gary’s family wants you all to know that you folks have become his dearest friends over the last years and for this, we thank you for your levels of professionalism. Thank you all!
The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm until time of military services at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 10, 2026, in the Ohio Veterans Home, Secrest Chapel, 3416 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Chaplain Randy Barlow will officiate. Burial will be in the Ohio Veterans Home Cemetery, Sandusky.
