Dorothy L. (Sherman) Konst

Dorothy L. Konst, age 99, passed away peacefully on Wednesday September 16, 2026. She was born in Lyme township to Frank and Edna (Herner) Sherman on April 12, 1927.

A life- long resident of Bellevue, she graduated from Bellevue High School in 1945. She married Frank H. Konst on June 16, 1946.

Dorothy was a lifetime employee of GE, working at the Bellevue Lamp Plant until it’s closing in 1985. She was a fifty-year member of the Althea Chapter 438 of the Ohio Eastern Star. Dorothy was a long-time member of the Lyme Grange. She volunteered many hours with Lutheran Brotherhood and Thrivent activities and was active in her local church.

Dorothy and her husband, Frank, traveled the world together, and she was always ready to go anywhere on an adventure. They were blessed to have a boat and spent time fishing on Lake Erie.

In later years, Dorothy greatly enjoyed sewing and quilting and loved spending Wednesday mornings with her sewing friends. These lovely ladies took her on “shop hops” which she would talk about for weeks afterward.

Her family will fondly remember Dorothy as adventurous, flexible and not to mention a very competitive card player. Euchre was her game. Scorekeeping her gift. Enforcing the rules her duty.

Dorothy began to slow down only in her late 90’s, while her mind remained sharp. Her nieces and nephews loved that she could text, send and receive pictures of major family events! Her final months were spent making new friends and new card partners at The Willows Assisted Living. She and her family were very thankful for her new friends and the excellent care she received there.

She is survived by her sister, Karen (Dale) Wilson; sisters-in-law Virginia Konst and Ruth Konst; and many, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will dearly miss Aunt Dorothy.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Frank in May of 2011. In addition to 3 nephews and 2 nieces.

Friends and family are welcome to gather on Monday, September 21, 2026, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bellevue, Ohio. Funeral services will follow at 5:00 p.m., with interment at Bellevue Cemetery. Food and fellowship at St. John’s will follow the services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
