Donald L. Henning, 96, a resident of the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky and formerly of Conneaut, Ohio passed away Saturday, November 14, 2020 at his residence.
He was born November 9, 1924 in Washington, Pennsylvania. Don was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and was awarded the purple heart during his service.
He is survived by one son, Mark (Corrine) Henning of Shaker Heights, Ohio; and five grandchildren, Branden, Taylor, Connor, Madeline, and Lauren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna who passed away February 22, 2020; his parents, Earl and Henrietta (Burand) Henning; and four siblings, Bobby, Ruth, Adina, and Eleanor.
A funeral mass will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, November 19, 2020 in the Our Lady Help of Christians Parish, 60 High Street, Seville, Ohio. Fr. Ed Suszynski will officiate. Burial will be in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Seville.
