Deborah "Debbie" Lynn (Gehr) Fuchs

Deborah “Debbie” Lynn Fuchs of  Put-in-Bay passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Stein Hospice in Sandusky.

Debbie was born in Lima, Ohio on September 11, 1952, to Robert and Dorothy Gehr. She graduated from Lima Senior High School. She married John Fuchs on September 8th, 1984. Debbie worked for Nationwide Insurance Co. as a claims examiner. When she retired about ten years ago, she moved to the island and ran the Sleepy Fox B&B at the Fuchs home on Bayview Ave. to be with her son Matt, daughter Jenny, and her dearly loved granddaughter Erin Stapleton. Debbie loved sitting on the front porch with her B&B guests at the Sleepy Fox, plus she enjoyed selling things at the yard sales she had in the front lawn.

Survivors include her husband John, son Matt and daughter Jenny, granddaughter Erin Stapleton, sister Denise Cramer, brothers Jay and Wally, sister-in-law Jan Fuchs Johnson, numerous nieces and nephews, and other family and friends.

She was preceded by her parents, stepfather Dick Burget, two sisters Susan Gehr and Carolyn Herold.

A celebration of life may take place at a later date to be determined.
