David Reynolds Golden

David R. Golden, 72, of Sandusky passed away peacefully, embraced within the arms of his family, Thursday, January 16, 2020 in the Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky following a brief illness.

He was born August 25, 1947 in Sandusky and was a 1965 graduate of Sandusky High School. David earned his Associates Degree from Terra Technical College.

He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church and the Sandusky County Kin Hunters. David worked in retail management for several retailers throughout Sandusky including the former, Mr. Wiggs, Heck’s, Pharmor, and Computer Resources. His hobbies included, genealogy, model trains, handcrafted tall sail ships, reading, and was fascinated with the mythology of Ancient Egypt. He was an avid fan of the Ohio State, Chicago Bears, and Cleveland Browns, and Cleveland Indians teams. His most cherished pastime was his family and especially his three granddaughters.

He is survived by his wife of almost 39 years, Janet (Webster) Golden; one son, Michael (Stephanie) Golden of Huron; three granddaughters, Elizabeth, Sarah, and Abigail Golden; and one sister-in-law, Marcia Webster of Port Clinton; family felines, Fluffy, II, Tigger; and grand kitty, Lily; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paschal and Ruth (Reynolds) Golden, family felines, Fluffy I, Possum, and Fuzzy; and his dog, Brittany.

Friends may call from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Monday, January 20, 2020 in the Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky and from 10:00 AM until time of funeral service at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, January 21, 2020 in Grace Episcopal Church, 315 Wayne Street, Sandusky. The Rev. Jan Smith Wood will officiate. Burial will be in Venice Cemetery.
