Carole A. Schiefley, 79, of Sandusky passed away peacefully Saturday morning April 11, 2026, in the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, after a brief illness. Prior to her passing, she received excellent care from the medical professionals of the Intensive Care Unit at Firelands Hospital, Sandusky.
She was born on April 26, 1946, in Sandusky and was a 1964 graduate of Sandusky St. Mary’s Central Catholic High School. Carole married her high school sweetheart, Dale A. Schiefley on November 7, 1964, and cherished being a homemaker and raising her 3 children. She was a great cook and enjoyed hosting her special Perch Fry. She also enjoyed attending classic car shows with her husband Dale, crocheting, and gardening.
Carole was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, Sandusky.
She is survived by her three children, Lori (Robert) Pulkinen of Minot, ND, Amie (Todd) Woods of New London, OH, and Michael (Andrea) Schiefley of Atlanta, GA; three grandchildren, Zachariah (Laura) Pulkinen, Zebulen (Lexi) Pulkinen, and Alexander Rash; three great granddaughters, Solo, Elsie, and Mirren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale A. Schiefley on November 20, 2018; her parents, George and Betty (Welch) Mittler; two brothers, David Mittler and Tom Wieber.
At Carole’s request cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the time of her memorial service at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 24, 2026, in the Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. All are welcome to attend the memorial service at 1 pm. Deacon Jeff Claar will officiate. A private family committal service will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery, Sandusky.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
