Bruno Lizzi Obituary

Bruno T. Lizzi, 84, of Sandusky passed away Monday, July 20, 2020 at Providence Care Center.

He was born December 17, 1935 in Red Lake, Ontario, Canada to the late John and Rita (Pletti) Tintinalli. He graduated from Sandusky High School in 1953 and went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army until 1956. He worked at Lizzi Brothers Texaco, then became a partner in the Stoplight Disco/Someplace Else while running the family business at Star Lanes for the next 45 years. He retired in 2008 selling the business to his twin sons who continue his legacy today.

Bruno enjoyed bocci, golf, and trips to Vegas with friends, but bowling was his passion. He built a reputation of his own, treating all customers like family, and due to his kindness and generosity, Bruno gained respect, not only in the bowling industry, but in his community as well.

Bruno was a member of the Sandusky Elks 285, Eagles, AMVETS, American Legion, VFW, Knights of Columbus, and a parishioner at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

He is survived by his six children, Laurie (Mike) Allen of Tennessee, Bruno Lizzi, Jr., Julie (Steve) West, Jeff (Cathy) Lizzi, John (Tracee) Lizzi, and Andrea Lizzi, all of Ohio; eleven grandchildren, Jeremy, Joshua, Jason & Jacob Maynard of Tennessee, Stephen (Lauren) West of Ohio, Brian (Tricia) West of Ohio, Megan (Dan) Kunz of Ohio, Taryn (Ben) Kochera of Florida, Alyssa (Mike) Uchida of Illinois, Johnny Lizzi, Jr. of Illinois, and Olivia Lizzi of Ohio; two brothers, Jerry (Rosemary) Lizzi and Larry (Gloria) Lizzi; many nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Bruno was preceded in death by his grandmother Olivia Pletti; and wife, Marylou Lizzi in 2012.
