Barbara Ann (Scheid) Smith

Barbara A. Smith, 89, of Monroeville passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by her family on Monday, February 7, 2022.

She was born September 4, 1932, to Harold and Helen (Rockwell) Scheid in Norwalk. She retired from Norwalk Furniture following several years of service. Barbara enjoyed reading, and was creative sharing her talents of quilting, embroidery, crocheting, and sewing with many grateful recipients. She also cherished visiting area wineries with family and friends.

She is survived by her four children, Duane Burris of Huron, Cheryl Downs of Monroeville, and Donna (Ed) Kay of Monroeville, Rosemary Ferrell of Collins, Ohio; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Smith, Sr. in 2019; three sons, Keith and Gilbert Burris, and Donald Smith, Jr.; one daughter, Gloria Roberts; and several relatives.

Friends may call from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm Thursday, February 10, 2022, in the Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe Street, Monroeville and from 9:30 am until time of funeral service at 10:30 am Friday, February 11, 2022, in the St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, 243 Benedict Avenue, Norwalk, Ohio 44857. Pastor Ann Marshall will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery, Pontiac, Ohio.
