Annette M. (Palmison) Munafo

Annette M. Munafo, 64, of Sandusky passed after a long-fought battle with cancer on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at her residence.

She was born on November 13, 1960, in Sandusky and was a 1979 graduate of Perkins High School, where she ran track. She graduated from the Toledo Academy of Beauty and owned her own salon when her kids were young. She retired from Freudenberg Nok Corteco in Milan, Ohio.

Annette was a member of the Sandusky Sailing Club where she had a passion for racing sailboats. She was an excellent crew member. Annette also attended a bible study club at The Chapel. She was a huge animal lover, and she especially enjoyed horseback riding. Annette was happiest while spending time with her kids and was especially excited about her new role as a grandma.

She is survived by three sons, Vincent Munafo, Anthony (Megan) Munafo, and Dylan Winkel; one grandson, Rocco Munafo; her mother and stepfather, Joyce and Alan Fitzpatrick; siblings, Veronica Jaeger, Teresa (Brian) Peterson, Peter (Darlene) Palmison; Vijay (Angela) Fitzpatrick, Sophia (Chad) Hall, John (Heather) Fitzpatrick, and Esther Fitzpatrick; her ex-husband, Gaetano F. Munafo; Dylan and Brianna’s father, Eric Winkel; nieces, nephews, and many other relatives.

She was preceded in death by one son, Dominic J. Munafo; one daughter, Brianna Winkel; her father and stepmother, Peter J. and Janet Palmison; and her brother-in-law, Matthew Jager.

At Annette’s request, cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held with inurnment to take place in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
