Albert B. “Bugs” Meyer, Jr., 85, of Monroeville passed away Sunday evening, December 18, 2022, at his residence of a lengthy illness.
He was born September 26, 1937, in Monroeville and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Bugs was employed at Norfolk & Southern Railroad for thirty years, and prior to that he was employed for twenty-eight years at the former Faulhaber Company. He owned and operated Meyer Water Hauling since 1975. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, American Legion Post 547, and the Bellevue and Norwalk Eagles. Bugs was a hard worker providing for his family, but his most cherished moments were those spent with his grandkids.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Myra J. (Scheid) Meyer; daughter, Pat (Roger) Schaffer of New London; son Tim (Patty Mariani) Meyer of Sandusky; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert B. and Mary (Schroeder) Meyer, Sr. and eight siblings.
Graveside services were held at St Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Monroeville with Fr. Chris Jesudhason officiating.
