Verna I. (Farley) Mead

Verna I. Mead, 83, of Monroeville passed away Friday afternoon, June 15, 2018 in the Stein Hospice Care Center following a brief illness.

She was born June 26, 1934 in Monroeville where she was a life long resident. Verna was a homemaker and an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians. She also loved to cook and crochet.

She is survived by her four children, Bob (Jackie) Mead of Rome, Ohio, Bill (Sharon) Mead of Norwalk, Tim Mead of Monroeville, and Sandy Mayer of Norwalk; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry W. Mead in 2017; two sons, Hank and Joe Mead; her parents, Maurice and Dolly (Davis) Farley; two sisters, Bertha Scott and Luena Couture; and three brothers, Junior, John, and Lawrence Farley.

Friends may call Wednesday, June 20, 2018 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe Street, Monroeville. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 21, 2018 at 1:00 PM in the funeral home with Chaplain David Detwiler officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Monroeville.
