Stephan Blanco Franklin passed away on September 3, 2017 at Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky, Oh. He was born February 8, 1942 to Blanco and Margret Schooley Franklin. Steve graduated high school in 1960 and joined the U. S. Navy as a Communications Repair Technician on the USS Ponderosa until 1964, stationed on the west coast. After the Navy he became a truck driver. Steve is preceded in death by his parents, brother Jim Franklin and daughter Tracy Garcia. He is survived by daughters Mary Franklin of Toledo, OH, Kelly (Tom) Patton of Rudolph, OH, Amy Conrad of Lakewood, OH, 15 grandchildren, brothers, David (Carol) Franklin of Heyworth, IL, Tom (Ann) Franklin of Parker, CO, Richard (Lillie) Franklin of Metamora, IL, sister Parmalee Franklin of Peoria, IL, along with nieces and nephews. Cremation has been accorded and a private military memorial service will be held at the Ohio Veterans Home. Memorials made be made to the OVH in his name.
