Ruth Ann (Gates) Carroll

Ruth Ann Carroll, 72, of Monroeville passed away Sunday, September 22, 2019 in the MetroHealth Main Campus Medical Center, Cleveland.

She was born January 12, 1947 to Raymond and Marie (Martin) Gates. Ruth was a graduate of Attica High School and worked for Maple City Rubber in Norwalk for over thirty years. She was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and enjoyed working the church festivals. She was a Cleveland sports fan, enjoyed feeding the birds, and frequenting casinos. Ruth had a passion for helping others and her pride and joy was the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Rhonda Carroll of Monroeville, Melinda Carroll of Fort Myers, FL, Christopher (Katie) Carroll of Monroeville, Lisa (Bob) Carroll of Sandusky; ten grandchildren, Kayla, Karlene, Austin, Adyson, Aiden, Kacey, Emma, Blake, Carter, and Colleen; siblings, Joann Showalter, Sharon (Gerald) Ruffing, John (Mary Kaye) Gates, and Bev (John “Ted”) Thurston; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Rose Daniel and Marilyn Hanline; one brother in infancy; and brother in laws, Gus Showalter and Chuck Hanline.

Friends may call from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 in the Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe Street, Monroeville. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 in the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 66 Chapel Street, Monroeville. Fr. Ron Schock will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Monroeville.
