Sheila and Linda and families,
What a great sadness to lose a parent. There are no words of comfort that can take away that sting, that sense of pain, that piece of you that is ripped out of your heart and remains a gaping wound. And while time will change the shape and urgency of the pain, it will never erase it. My heart is sad for your sad hearts, friends. Know that I hold you up in prayer and love, wishing against all logic and reality, that there was something I could do to make it better for you. I love you both; you are true friends of my soul. I pray your grief journeys will find you knowing that you have been given the gifts of unconditional love and faith and family roots from your Dad that not all are so lucky to receive. You are blessed. I am sorry that I was not able to be at the showing or service; know that I was there in spirit and thought. In honor of your Dad, I have paid for two women in my Toledo prayer group to attend the annual retreat this Fall. They will pray for him and for you while we are on the retreat. This seemed like a fitting memorial, since our Has Been retreats are so special to all of us. I think your Dad would approve. While I didn't know him, I know his daughters, which is all I need to realize that the world has lost a special man. I love you, friends. Patti Irons

One of my favorite memories is when Uncle Dick raised me up and down on the car left at the station. Thanks for the memories uncle!
