Eileen Marie (Ball) Couch

Eileen Marie (Ball) Couch, 97, of Huron passed away from natural causes early Sunday morning, June 3, 2018, at her son’s residence in Bay View.

She was born October 1, 1920 in Uhrichsville, Ohio. Eileen was a graduate of Crafton High School in Pennsylvania and completed one year at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in fashion drawing. She worked as a stenographer in many locations, retiring after fifteen years at the former Good Samaritan Hospital medical records department. The family moved to Huron in 1960 and Eileen played piano and accompanied the choir for the former Huron Methodist Church before the merger with the EUB Church into the Huron United Methodist Church, where she remained a member. Eileen dedicated her life to her family and church and was an avid reader, and enjoyed music, movies, and art.

She is survived by her children, William E. (Sharon) Couch and Karen C. (Roy) Billman, both of Bay View, Ohio; grandchildren, William M. (Shawna) Couch of Prince Frederick, Maryland and Christa T. (David) Sexton of Galloway, Ohio; step-granddaughters Laura Ashleigh (Caine) Newkirk of Bellevue, Ohio and Kendall F. Billman of El Sobrante, California; great-grandchildren Michael, Mackenzie, Isaac, and Owen; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In 2008 she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, William H. Couch. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Clarence E. and Elsie (Ranger) Ball; a brother, Benjamin E. Ball; and two sisters, Dale K. Moss and Leah V. Kemp.

Friends may call Thursday, June 7, 2018 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, Ohio and Friday, June 8, 2018 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. in the Huron United Methodist Church, 338 Williams Street, Huron, Ohio where services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Roger Skelley-Watts will officiate. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron, Ohio.
