Charles E. Nester, age 86, residing at the Ohio Veterans Home and formerly Youngstown passed away Friday, December 29, 2017.
He was born October 22, 1931 in Washington, PA to the late Hollie and Pearlie (Golden) Nester and was a High School graduate. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean conflict from 1949 until 1955. He returned home, and began working at General Motors, where he retired in the late 1980’s as a general foreman. He was a driver at Wheeler Spring Water Co. in Youngstown and worked 10 years as a toll booth attendant for the Ohio Turnpike Commission. He enjoyed working with his hands, tinkering on cars and remodeling.
He is survived by his wife, Nell (Jackson) Nester; and children, Andre Nester, Nanda Rowe and Anika Moore.
A graveside service will be held at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements by the Pfeil Funeral Home, 617 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.
