Ann Isabelle (Schafer) Jones

Ann Isabelle (Schafer) Jones, 94 passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at Gaymont Nursing Center in Norwalk.

She was just four days shy of her 95th birthday. Ann was born in Norwalk, Ohio on October 26, 1924 to the late Frank and Cecilia Schafer. She graduated from Monroeville High School in 1942.

Ann married the late Richard Jones and resided in Monroeville where they raised their five children. Ann’s focus in life was her family. She loved preparing home cooked meals and baking pies. Ann’s fulfillment in life came from taking care of others. She was a loving and beautiful presence in all the lives of those that surrounded her. Ann’s faith was also at the forefront of her life. She was a member of The Altar and Rosary Society and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monroeville where she always maintained an active presence within the parish.

Ann is survived by her children, David (Janet) Jones, Gary (Cindy) Jones, Christine Berry (Mel Holida), Jeffery (Janeen) Jones, Robert (Lisa) Jones; seven grandchildren, Stephen Berry (Laura Dunn), Jessica (A.J.) Alt, Leslie (Brian) Chase, Corey Jones, Kyle Jones, Clayton Jones, and Justin Jones; seven great-grandchildren; one brother Robert Schafer; one sister, Theresa Karl; sisters-in-law, Norma Jones and Theresa Schafer.

In addition to her parents, Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Jones; and her siblings, Orch Smith, Mary Moore, Norb Schafer, Warren Schafer, Ed Schafer, Alfred Schafer, Joe Schafer and Pete Schafer.

Friends may call from 4:00-7:00 PM Friday, October 25, 2019 at Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe Street, Monroeville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, October 26, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 66 Chapel Street, Monroeville. Fr. Ron Schock will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Monroeville.
