Peggy E. Perry, 99, of Monroeville passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 15, 2024, in the Fisher-Titus Medical Center, Norwalk.
She was born on February 25, 1924, at home in Peru Township. She was a 1942 graduate of Monroeville High School and served in the Navy WAVES during World War II. After returning home she worked at Lawson’s in Cuyahoga Falls for twenty-five years. Following retirement in 1978, Peggy bought a house and moved back to Monroeville where she enjoyed keeping a meticulous yard and flower gardens. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Monroeville, and the American Legion Post 547. Peggy was proud of her time serving our country in the Navy WAVES and was honored to be the Monroeville Grand Marshall in the 2018 Memorial Day Parade. Her hobbies included crocheting, spending winters in Florida, watching birds visit her bird feeders, and loving her dogs.
She is survived by one sister, Arlene (Clyde) Anderson of Monroeville; one sister-in-law, Carole Perry of Norwalk; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ross and Laura (Grieves) Perry; three brothers, Oliver Perry, Earl Perry, and Robert Perry; two sisters, Ruth Schwan and Mary Bores.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the time of memorial service at 11:00 am Wednesday, February 21, 2024, in the Trinity Lutheran Church, 121 W. Broad Street, Monroeville, Ohio 44847. Rev. Dan Pennington will officiate. The burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Norwalk.
