Nancy J. Schnee, 92, of Monroeville passed away peacefully Monday, January 29, 2024, surrounded by her family in the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
She was born September 23, 1931, in Norwalk, Ohio and was a 1951 graduate of Monroeville High School. Nancy was employed at Venture Packaging, Monroeville, retiring in 1999. Prior to this, she had worked at General Electric, Bellevue. Her favorite roles in life were being a farmer's wife and a mother of 4. She was a member of the Congregational Community United Church of Christ, Monroeville, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Eagles, both of Bellevue. She enjoyed watching the birds that came to her feeders and splash in the birdbath, doing yardwork, attending all the kids and grandkids activities, and baking her special Grandma Nancy Chocolate Chip Cookies.
She is survived by her four children, Susan (Bob) Yatsu of Tallmadge, Ohio, Barbara (David) Mahl of Monroeville, Connie (Paul McFadden) Jacobs, and Gary (Patti) Schnee, both of Bellevue; eight grandchildren, David (Lydia) and Michael Yatsu, Stephanie Yatsu-Patterson, Eric (Kristie) Mahl, Amanda (James) Altomare, Jacob, Jared (Robyn) and Allison Schnee; thirteen great-grandchildren, Jessica and Noah Yatsu, Owen Patterson, Faustina, Joshua, Khloe, Christian, Ellena, Sophia, and Emmanuel Mahl, Kaden, Kaylee and Lucas Altomare, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David R. Schnee in 1973; her parents, Edwin & Lucille (Nugent) Dillingham; four sisters, infant Elizabeth Dillingham (13mo), Doris Kessler, Shirley Bores and Peggy McGinn; three brothers, infant Edwin Dillingham, Jr. (2mo), Charles Dillingham, and James Dillingham.
Friends may call from 3:00-6:00 pm Sunday, February 4, 2024, at the Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe Street, Monroeville, and from 10:00 am until time of funeral service at 11 :00 am on Monday, February 5, 2024, in the Congregational Community United Church of Christ, 29 Chapel Street, Monroeville, Ohio 44847. Rev. Dr. Wayne Chasney will officiate. The burial will be in North Monroeville Cemetery.
