Jeff David “Rizzo” Bauer, 59, passed away unexpectedly on January 20, 2024.
He was born February 1, 1964, in Sandusky and would have been sixty years old this year. Jeff was a 1982 Margaretta High School graduate. Jeff loved the lake and living on Catawba Island and shared his knowledge as a charter fish captain for many years. He had previously worked at the Ford Motor Company and spent the last few years as a delivery driver during the winter. Jeff enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his children and grandson. He was an avid Margaretta fan and loved college and national football. Jeff had finally met the love of his life Amber and was excited for their wedding and the blending of their families in August. “Rizzo” was popular on the shores of Lake Erie and was loved by all!
He is survived by his son, Jared and daughter-in-law Alysha Bauer; his eldest daughter, Jennifer; his grandson, Zachary; love of his life, Amber Rogers; her son, Ryder Rogers; his siblings, Lisa (Kevin) Dircks, Michael (Laura) Bauer, Beth (David) Miller, and Scott Bauer; eight nieces and nephews; twelve great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jordan; his father, David Bauer; grandparents, Linus and Elizabeth Bauer; hunting buddies, Uncle Charles Bauer and cousin, Bill Bauer; and his partner in crime Doug Alexander.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm on Friday, January 26, 2024, in the Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, Ohio 44870.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the funeral home in care of the family.
