Ruth E. (Rosino) Mischler, 88, of Sandusky, passed away Tuesday evening, August 2, 2016 in the Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky following a brief illness. 

She was born April 17, 1928 in Sandusky and was a 1946 graduate of Sandusky High School. She also graduated from the Toledo Hospital School of Nursing in 1949.  Ruth was employed as a Registered Nurse for 29 years. She began working at the former Good Samaritan Hospital and retired in 1993 from Firelands Regional Medical Center.  She was an active member of St. Stephen United Church of Christ, Sandusky, where she volunteered for many years. She enjoyed volunteering for the church in the kitchen for funeral luncheons and working the Blood Mobiles at the church.  Ruth also was active with the Girl Scouts for many years, where she truly enjoyed being the nurse for Girl Scout Day Camp.  Her special interests included her many pets over the years, traveling, bird watching, cooking and reading. 

She is survived by one daughter, Linda (Paul) Scroggy; her gentleman friend, Walter Bauman; four grandchildren, Scott (Katrina) Scroggy, Matt (Nicole) Scroggy, Jami Long and Kari (Jay) Smith; eight great grandchildren, Anthony, LaDarius, Amareah, Lisa Ann, Ellie, Calvin, Jace and Auron; one son-in-law, Glen Long; one brother, Edward J. Rosino, Jr. all of Sandusky, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester J. Mischler, Jr.; one son, Michael J. Mischler; one daughter, Lisa Long and her parents, Edward J. and Eleanor (Zorn) Rosino, Sr.

Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, August 27, 2016 in the St. Stephen United Church of Christ, 905 E. Perkins Avenue, Sandusky.  The Rev. Jerald Fenske will officiate.  A luncheon will follow in the church fellowship hall.  Committal services for the family will be held at a later date.
