Lois Amelia (Behnke) Stang

Lois A. Stang, 84, of Monroeville passed away early Thursday morning, March 9, 2017 in The Willows at Bellevue following a brief illness.

She was born May 1, 1932 in Sandusky and was a 1950 graduate of Margaretta High School.  Lois was the bookkeeper for her husband at the former Stang’s Gulf in Monroeville and had been employed at Faulhaber’s. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Monroeville.  Lois was an avid cook and loved reading to her grandchildren.

She is survived by her four children, Jim (Jill) Stang and Kathy (Jim) Pocock, both of Monroeville, Debi (Dave) Fries of Norwalk and Connie (Steve) Wollam of Westerville; nine grandchildren, Kendra (Robb) Smithson, Brianne (Ben) Daniel, Adam (Emily) Pocock, Kristen Pocock, Stacey Pocock, Sam (Kristen) Fries, Tony (Tiffany) Fries, Dana (Gaelan) Shively and Kate Wollam; eight great grandchildren, RJ, Tridan, Mathilda, Baylee, Braxton, Malia, Veronica and Erin; two sisters, Diane (Bill) Jacoby of Castalia and Janet (Mike) Maistros of Chagrin Falls; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alan “Chuck” Stang in 2005; her parents, Arthur and Esther (Miller) Behnke; one sister and brother in law, Carol and Don Ebert.

Friends may call Sunday, March 12, 2017 from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe Street, Monroeville and on Monday, March 13, 2017 from 10:00 AM until time of funeral service at 11:00 AM in the Trinity Lutheran Church, 121 Broad Street, Monroeville, Ohio 44847.  The Rev. Dr. Amy C. Little will officiate.  Burial will be held in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Monroeville.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church.
