Eileen M. Ruffing

Eileen M. Ruffing, 60, of Mt. Vernon, Ohio and formerly of Monroeville passed away Sunday, April 10, 2016 in the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Columbus following a brief illness.

She was born November 8, 1955 in Sandusky and was a graduate of St. Joseph Elementary School, Monroeville and a 1974 graduate of Monroeville High School.  Eileen received her Bachelor and Master Degrees from Bowling Green State University.  She was employed 35 years at the Highland Local School District, Morrow County, Ohio, where she was the music teacher and band director.  Eileen was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Mt. Vernon and the Bowling Green State Alumni Association. 

She is survived by her mother, Evelyn A. Ruffing of Monroeville; two sisters, Sr. Joella Marie Ruffing SND of Delphos, Ohio and Donna (Brian) Loux of Powell, Ohio; two brothers, Anthony (Mary Lou) Ruffing of Monroeville and Andrew (Barbara) Ruffing of Lone Tree, Colorado; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her father, Francis Ruffing in 2008.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, April 15, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 66 Chapel Street, Monroeville, Ohio.  Fr. Ronald A. Schock will officiate.  Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery.  After committal services at the cemetery, there will be a luncheon in the St. Joseph Social Hall where the family will receive friends and family.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Window Restoration Fund, c/o St. Joseph Catholic Church.
