Alvin D. Strauss, 99, of Sandusky passed away early Wednesday morning, February 3, 2016 in the Parkvue Health Care Center, Sandusky following a brief illness.
He was born October 14, 1916 in Sandusky and had served in the U.S. Army Air during WWII. Alvin was employed at the former Mill Site Farms, Castalia, retiring in 1980. He also had worked as a tailor in Sandusky. He was a member of the former Calvary Episcopal Church, Sandusky, where he sang in the choir.
He is survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia M. (Berry) Strauss in 1981; his parents, Carl and Florence (Platt) Strauss; four sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, February 8, 2016 in the Oakland Cemetery Chapel, 2917 Milan Road, Sandusky. Deacon Jerry Neuberger will officiate.
